Careers

Do one thing. Do it well.

We're a specialist studio of architects, designers, project managers and installers. If you'd rather go deep than broad, we'd like to hear from you.

Open roles

We have no vacancies listed right now, and we welcome speculative applications in every discipline, at any of our three offices.

Good people are hard to find in a field this specialised, so we'd rather meet you before a role is advertised than after. Send us a note and your work and we'll keep you in mind.

01Why Wayfinders

A specialist studio, for people who like to specialise

01

Go deep, not broad

Wayfinding is all we do, and we've done it for nearly 50 years. You'll spend your time getting very good at one discipline instead of a little good at many.

02

Buildings that matter

Hospitals, university campuses, apartment schemes, council buildings, hotels and data centres. The work is used every day by people who need it to be right.

03

See it through

Design, project management and installation are all done by our own teams, so you can follow a project from the first drawing to the certificate, and walk the building once it's open.

04

Tools built for the job

We built our own platform for sign schedules, approvals and handover records. Less retyping and chasing, more time on the work itself.

02Disciplines

Who we hire

Wayfinding sits between architecture, graphic design and construction. We employ all of them.

  • Architects

Reading drawings for circulation, cores and decision points, setting out wayfinding strategy, and placing every sign against the real building.

  • Graphic designers

Sign families, typography, pictograms, colour and contrast, environmental graphics and brand guidelines, designed to accessibility standards from the start.

  • Project managers

People with construction experience who run the package to the main contractor's programme, from appointment through installation to handover.

  • Installers

Fitting teams who know construction sites and live buildings, work to permits and method statements, and take pride in a clean finish.

  • Business and operations

The commercial, administrative and marketing roles that keep a specialist business running smoothly. Tell us what you do well.

03How we work

Design to installation, in one team

The same five stages on every project. See our approach.

  • Small teams that own a project end to end, rather than passing it along a line.
  • Designers who talk directly to the architect and the client, which is a large part of why our packages average 1.8 design rounds to approval.
  • Time on site. Our project managers and installers work alongside main contractors, and designers see their work go in.
  • Standards treated as part of the craft: Part M, BS 8300, ISO 7010 and the Official Languages Act are learned on the job, not left to someone else.
